DUBLIN-Friday 21 December 2018 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CR2, one of the world’s leading providers of retail banking software, has reported strong adoption rates of its mobile app in Ethiopia, which is used, among other channels, to access the Amole digital wallet, a pioneering mobile payment platform offered by Dashen Bank. Amole is attracting over 50,000 new customers each month, with over a quarter of a million subscribers signed up since its launch in July 2018.

CR2 also announced new transformational capabilities that will further drive adoption rates for banks wishing to grow their customer base and increase revenues. By introducing end-to-end digitisation of the entire onboarding, KYC (Know your Customer) and account opening process, CR2’s BankWorld Mobile App allows banks to avail of mobile onboarding capabilities, collect relevant KYC details in the app and register non-bank customers in minutes.

Integrated with Secure Messaging via the BankWorld Mail service, customers of the bank can easily communicate with bank staff, upload documents and files safely, and access options for a designated Personal Banker.

To provide maximum customer engagement, the Mobile App’s user interface is built with multi-language support.

BankWorld Mobile App offers significant benefits to banks:

Grundfos Takes Center Stage at the RetrofitTech KSA 2018 Conference

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-Monday 17 December 2018 [ AETOS Wire ]

Grundfos, the award-winning world leader in advanced pump and water application systems, took part in the RetrofitTech KSA 2018 Conference, a two-day leading event that took place on the 18th and 19th November 2018 at the Crowne Plaza Riyadh RDC Hotel and Convention Center, Saudi Arabia.

RetrofitTech Saudi Arabia is the only specialized conference dedicated to the emerging building retrofit and refurbishment industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is rapidly increasing in importance as the Kingdom aims to reduce energy consumption and waste by applying smart building standards, retrofitting existing building to balance the energy mix.

Green at heart and at the forefront of sustainability, Grundfos took part in the event, which witnessed a significant turnout of more than 60 visitors, in a bid to enhance dialogue on the retrofitting market in KSA, which is a crucial part of the Roadmap to building a sustainable and energy efficient Saudi Arabia in line with Kingdom Vision 2030.

Sessions were themed around energy use and efficiency of buildings, energy efficient retrofitting, inspections and policy and aimed to explain and extend Grundfos’ wide range of Retrofit solutions in support of the energy efficiency program of KSA.

Commenting on Grundfos valuable solutions, Tolga Candan, Business Development Manager, Energy Optimization and Retrofit Sales, Grundfos Gulf Distribution FZE said: “Pump-Retrofit can achieve around 25% on a building’s electricity consumption. With substantial savings on the energy bill and with power prices always on the rise, you can expect quick return on investment when you upgrade your pump solution. To this end, Grundfos has developed a method called Energy Check to identify savings potential on the existing pumps. An energy check of your pumps provides a solid foundation for saving more than half on the operational costs of your pumps.”

Adding further, he said: “Pump efficiency is only interesting if reliability is not compromised. Pump maintenance is costly, whether planned or unplanned, and Grundfos does not compromise on reliability with our products.”

The event provided a platform for both KSA government and private sector leaders to showcase the work they have done to reduce energy consumption in buildings in the Kingdom which has increased sharply during the last two decades due to rapid economic development.

The RetrofitTech KSA received exceptionally positive feedback from visitors and also contributed to delivering the right business case for buy-in among senior managers and building owners to sign-off a retrofit and learn how smart technology and innovation can deliver greater results and help achieve the desired energy reduction goals.

FLIR Star SAFIRE 380-HDc to Provide U.S. Strategic Command Surveillance Capabilities on Boeing Helicopters

WILSONVILLE, Ore.-Thursday 20 December 2018 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today it has been selected by Boeing to provide the FLIR Star SAFIRE 380-HDc EO/IR surveillance sensor for the United States Air Force (USAF) UH-1N replacement contract. The replacement program will replace the current fleet of USAF UH-1N helicopters, which support the service’s nuclear intercontinental ballistic missile bases in Wyoming, Montana and North Dakota. The aircraft will also be used for training, test and operational support airlift missions. The initial contract award to FLIR is for the first four helicopters, with the total contract up to 84 MH-139 helicopters and valued at more than $40 million to FLIR.

Boeing was awarded a $375.5 million firm-fixed-price contract for the non-developmental item integration of the four aircrafts to replace the UH-1N. This was a basic award of a contract (including options) valued at approximately $2.38 billion, which will provide for the acquisition and sustainment of up to 84 MH-139 helicopters, training devices, and associated support equipment. If all options are exercised, the work is expected to be completed by September 2031.

FLIR has provided the surveillance component for the current UH-1N helicopters in use by the U.S. Strategic Command since the mid-1990’s. FLIR has been part of EO/IR surveillance system upgrades on these aircraft and recently contracted to upgrade a set of aircrafts to the FLIR Star SAFIRE 380-HDc prior to fielding the new aircraft.

“We are honored to be selected by Boeing as part of this vital national security mission,” said Jim Cannon, President and CEO at FLIR. “Our airborne imaging solutions will ensure enhanced surveillance and threat detection for the U.S. Strategic Command Mission, helping to keep our airmen and citizens safe.”

The sensors will be manufactured by the FLIR Government and Defense Business Unit in the company’s Wilsonville, Oregon facility. The helicopters, derived from the Leonardo commercial AW139, will be assembled at Leonardo’s Philadelphia plant. Boeing will integrate military components at its facility in Philadelphia.
