Today is the inauguration of the desert camp activities at Telal Resort in Remah of the 4th International Festival of Falconry that is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, May God Protect Him. The Festival is organized by the Emirates Falconers Club in strategic partnership with the International Association of Falconry and Conservation of Birds of Prey and New York University-Abu Dhabi. There are more than 700 falconers and researchers representing 90 countries participating in the event, as well as several international organisations headed by UNESCO.
The participants will be taking part in desert camp activities that will last for 3 days and there will be several topics that are of importance to falconers from all the different parts of the world such as: “The Heritage of Falconry….Throughout History,” “International Agreements and Legislations for Hunting,” “Future Strategies for Falconry in the World,” “Technologies and Peaceful Methods for the Conservation of Falconry and its Prey,” in addition to hunting trips for the guests in collaboration with Emirati falconers. There will also be practical and technical workshops and a conference with several sessions and lectures in different languages among which is Arabic Theses on Falconry in Europe.
The initiatives of the 4th International Festival of Falconry will shift to Khalifa Park in the capital Abu Dhabi, where there will be activities for the general public that involves displays, competitions and exciting tours over a period of two days from the 8th to the 9th of December.
