Ramadan Tournament for the Inmates of the ADP Punitive Establishments Concludes

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, July 9th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

The General Directorate of Punitive and Correctional Establishments at the Ministry of Interior has concluded the Ramadan Tournament held for the inmates of the establishment. The sports games were held as part of the directorate’s plans to create a recreational, educational and cultural environment for the inmates.

The activities were attended by Brigadier Dr. Yusuf Rashed Al Hamidi, Head of the Policies and Standards Department; Colonel Yousef Mohammed Al Shehhi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Federal Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department; Lt. Colonel Ali Saeed Al Naqbi, Director of Sporting Activities; and a number of officers.

The “Ward 5” rehabilitation team was crowned the champion of the six-a-side football tournament, and the “Ward 5” security team was the champion of the volleyball tournament. Amidst all of the games that were all played with excitement and competiveness, the staff team of the establishment won in the game of tug-of-war against the team of inmates.

By the end of the tournament, Brig. Dr. Al Hamidi presented the tournament trophy and medals to the winning teams.
