Registration Now Available for the 2016 COMPUTEX d&i Awards

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Friday, December 11th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The 36th edition of global professional ICT trade show COMPUTEX TAIPEI will take place from May 31st to June 4th, 2016 in Taipei. One of the leading ICT trade shows in the world, the show will be held at TWTC Exhibition Halls 1 and 3, Nangang Exhibition Hall 1, and the Taipei International Conference Center (TICC).

COMPUTEX TAIPEI resets its position each year in response to the rapid development of the ICT industry and reorganizes the exhibition areas accordingly. The positioning of the 2016 show is “Building Partnerships in Internet Computing Ecosystems”, focusing on IoT applications, innovation and startups, and business solutions. In order to highlight IoT applications and startup, COMPUTEX has created two new exhibits, SmarTEX and InnoVEX. The two exhibits have already received a lot of buzz from domestic and overseas businesses.

For the past 8 years, show organizer TAITRA has collaborated with the International Forum Design (iF) from Germany to present the COMPUTEX d&i awards. These awards have been an index of ICT excellence, and the awards will enter its 9th year in 2016.

The awards are adjudicated by a jury of the world’s top industrial designers, who choose their favorites from hundreds of submissions based on 9 criteria that include aesthetic, innovation, practicality, and brand marketing.

Major tech companies, both Taiwanese and from Europe, North America, and Asia, have participated in the awards. The winning products are showcased at the COMPUTEX d&i awards display at COMPUTEX and other major ICT shows around the world, an important stop for buyers all over the world.

The awards cover a diverse range of categories. On top of the existing seven categories—Gaming Hardware; Network + Communication Products; Computers + Systems; Computer Hardware + Components; Data Storage Products; Displays + Audio/Video; Peripherals + Accessories—the 2016 awards have added two new categories, Wearable Technology + Smart Applications/Products and Smart Home + Security. The increased categories will better reflect industry trends while also paralleling COMPUTEX’s 2016 positioning.

In addition to the additional product categories, the 2016 d&i awards have also debuted the COMPUTEX d&i Rising Star award to encourage participation from startups. The awards will be presented at the COMPUTEX opening ceremony as means to increase exposure for the winning companies, particularly the startups, and help them find investors and establish partnerships.

The winning products of the COMPUTEX d&i awards will not only receive an iF certificate, but also a comprehensive international promotion package. The winning products will be featured year-round on the official COMPUTEX TAIPEI and iF websites, in a special editorial in the COMPUTEX Show Preview and Show Daily, and in a commemorative album that will be distributed at major international trade shows. The products will also embark on an international tour of the world’s biggest ICT trade shows—IFA, CES, MWC, Indocomtech, COM-IT, as well as their home show, COMPUTEX TAIPEI—to create business opportunities in local markets.

Registration for the COMPUTEX d&i awards is open now until March 31st, 2016 and is not limited to COMPUTEX 2016 exhibitors.
