MoI and UNICEF Discuss Cooperation to Protect Children’s Rights

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, April 5th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior met on Monday in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters with Dr. Ibrahim Jawdat Al Zik, UNICEF Representative to the Gulf Region, and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, both parties discussed a number of topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Interior and UNICEF so as to protect children's rights, exchange expertise and experience in various fields, and support UNICEF’s activities and efforts aimed at supporting children around the world and enhancing their rights.

Dr. Al Zik commended the UAE’s efforts in protecting children’s rights; as well as their valuable international role and their initiatives in the field of child protection, which represent a role model to emulate. Dr. Al Zik praised the UAE’s continuous support to protect children's rights globally, and their close cooperation with the United Nations’ Office in this field.

The meeting was attended by Abdulrahman Al Juwayed from the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Interior.
