Spanning Six Categories, 2019 AMOs Reflect Developments Across the Broad Mobile Ecosystem

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The GSMA today announced that the Asia Mobile Awards (AMO Awards) at MWC19 Shanghai are open for entry. Judged by a panel of leading independent industry experts, the AMO Awards honour the greatest achievements and innovations across the Asian mobile industry. Comprising 10 awards over six categories, the 2019 AMO Awards will be presented during MWC19 Shanghai, which will be held 26 – 28 June at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). Entries for the AMO Awards will be accepted until Wednesday,10 April 2019.

The AMO Awards reflect the constant evolution of the mobile industry in Asia and put a spotlight on the latest trends shaping the industry. The 2019 AMO Awards will include 10 awards presented within the following six categories:
Mobile Technology: This award category will recognise the companies that are revolutionising the capabilities and reach of mobile and digital technologies. This year, the category will include a new award recognising the pioneers pushing the boundaries of innovation in the emerging 5G era:
Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough in Asia
Best IoT Innovation for Mobile Networks in Asia
Best Smartphone in 2019
Asia 5G Innovation Award (new in 2019)
Consumer: As consumers migrate to the connected age, this category will honour companies that have redefined the business-to-consumer relationship to enhance everyday life.
Best Mobile Service for Connected Living in Asia
Fourth Industrial Revolution: This award category will distinguish key companies at the forefront of the digital shift, across seven market verticals.
Best Mobile Innovation for Smart Cities in Asia
4YFN Award Shanghai 2019: The innovation platform for MWC, 4YFN (4 Years From Now) enables startups, investors, corporations and public institutions to create and launch new ventures, strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This category recognises organisations that are accelerating business development and investment within the start-up community.

Social Good: This category honours mobile innovations in the Asia region that contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a 17-point plan focused on ending poverty, protecting the planet and fighting injustice and inequality.

Outstanding Achievement: This category celebrates individuals and organisations that have made a remarkable contribution to the digital community across the following areas:

The AMO Awards 2019 are open to companies and individuals across the broad mobile ecosystem. The awards will be judged by independent experts, analysts, journalists, academics and, in some cases, mobile operator representatives. Select awards will be nominated by judges or by an independent panel of experts and will not be open for online entry. The submission of video to support entries is strongly encouraged by the awards judges.
