The Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Abu Dhabi Police announced that the number of vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi amounted to 1,016,740 vehicles during the past year. The department also stressed the provision of its various services to vehicles owners wherever they are in their areas of residence.
According to Colonel Suhail Saeed Al Khaiaili, Chief of the Vehicles Licensing Section at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, there are seven different categories of vehicles, notably 908,000 light vehicles; 45,885heavy vehicles, 18,590 heavy buses, 2,758 light buses, and 23,051 heavy duty machinery, 7,518 light duty machinery, and 10,389 motorcycles.
Colonel Al Khaiaili said that the all vehicle licensing transactions and other services are easily provided through the Ministry of Interior’s smart application UAE-MOI, and the "Sahel" device, which provides a complete set of state-of-art technologies to the service. He also pointed out to the ongoing efforts to provide diverse service delivery channels, as part of the Abu Dhabi government’s vision, aimed at making use of technical possibilities in the various service delivery platforms in order to make services easily available and accessible and to save customers’ time and effort.
“The Emirate of Abu Dhabi comprises 50 service centers; 24 in Abu Dhabi, 16 in Al Ain, and 10 in the western region. The service centers across the national institutions, government departments, and national and private companies that deal with vehicles are also comprised in these centers,” he added.
He explained that the service centers are located in Abu Dhabi at the Licensing Department’s main building; the Al Salamah buildings affiliated to the Licensing Department in Abu Dhabi, Al Musaffah, BaniYas, and Al Samha; the Driver’s Testing and Licensing Branch at the Emirates Driving Company; the “Aman” Building for heavy-duty vehicles licensing for companies and institutions in Al Musaffah; and the Courthouse building at Al Nahyan camp.
The service centers are also available at Al-Futtaim Motors/Toyota; Al Tayer/Premier Motors; Abu Dhabi Motors; Lease Plan in Musaffah; UAE cars/ Mercedes-Benz facility; Al Hilal Bank - Airport Road; the Centre for Regulation of Transport by Hire Cars (TransAD); Al Musaffah Police Station; BaniYas Police Station; Al Wathba Company in Al Musaffah; The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ building; Universal Company; Al Jaber Group in Al Musaffah; the Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Al Marina Mall.
The service centers in Al Ain are located as follows: the Licensing Department’s main buildings, Al Salamah building in Falaj Hazaa; Al Wagan and Masaken centers; the Aman Building in Mezyad for heavy-duty vehicles licensing; the Emirates School; the customer service centers in the municipalities of Mezyad, Al Maqam, Suweihan and Al Hayar, as well as at the Inspection Committees Building affiliated to the Licensing Department in Mezyad Area. The centers can be found also at the Customers Service Center in Al Yahar Court, Al Khazna Police Station, and Al Quou’ Licensing Department.
The centers in the Western Region are distributed in the Licensing Building in Tarif; the Tamm Centers in Madinat Zayed, Gayathi, Al Sila, Dalma, Marfa and Liwa cities. They also can be found at ADNOC station for maintenance of light-duty vehicles in the city; and heavy vehicle maintenance for companies in Madinat Zayed; heavy-duty maintenance center for companies in Madinat Zayed and Al Ruwais petrol station.
