A Book Fair in Abu Dhabi’s Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs

The Media and the Public Relations Section at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector marked the World Book Day held on the 2nd of April of each year, with a book fair under the theme “Year of Reading.” The event took place at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ building, with the participation of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, and a number of publishing houses in Abu Dhabi.

The two days book fair was held in line with the activities of the Media and the Public Relations Section for the year 2016, and under the strategic initiatives of the Section.

The fair was inaugurated by Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of Naturalization Department, in the presence of Colonel Abdullah Ali Al Hosani, Acting Director General of Ports and Airports; Colonel Mohammad Sultan Al Dhaheri, Head of the Resources and Support Services Department; Colonel Suhail bin Kaltham Al Khaiaili, Deputy Director General of Naturalization for Investigation Affairs; and Colonel Awad Al Marar, Head of the Naturalization and Passports Department, along with a number of officers in the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector.

Brigadier Al Rashedi reviewed the books at the fair and the latest editions issued in the UAE, along with the books on leadership, management and social sciences. He stressed the importance of enriching the culture, knowledge and reading habits of the staff of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector, and the members of the community as well.

He noted that the fair comes in line with the social and educational activities of the sector, and under the direct attention given by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaiaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports to spreading the culture of reading and intellectual enrichment of the sector’s staff. He noted that developing the intellectual and personal capabilities of the staff can only be achieved by reading. He called upon all the staff to foster their reading habits in all sciences in order to increase their knowledges.
