Al Sha'far Attends Graduation of Recruits' Course No. 68 in Sharjah

Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, attended on Thursday the graduation ceremony of the 68th Basic Training Course for police recruits. The course was attended by 220 recruits at the Federal Police School in Sharjah.

In his speech at the ceremony, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior emphasized that the UAE enjoys enviable stability, safety and security, which constitute the key strategic components of development and progress, and the main pillar to building the nation and ensuring happiness among the people.   He said: “The wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates has placed security and safety at the heart of its strategy, towards achieving nation-wide stability and prosperity for each and every society segment. In this day and age, police forces undertake greater responsibilities; the country’s leadership and citizens’ expectations of the police force have continued to drive police officers’ role beyond ensuring public order and crime prevention. Therefore, meeting these expectations is a national duty and a non-negotiable moral obligation.”

Adding further, Lieutenant General Al Sha’far said: “The security and stability enjoyed by the UAE are essential components for development and progress; they are a key line of defense to protect the sustainability of the country’s national gains and development achievements, in light of the developments and changes taking place in the region. The Ministry of Interior is keen to cater to the needs of the different police entities and to provide their employees with modern and state of art resources that would enable them to carry out their assigned tasks and duties in the best way possible.”

Moreover, he explained that the ministry is diligently seeking to develop the abilities of its staff members of various ranks and from the various police GHQs and departments; using systematized work plan and clear programs, commensurate with the changes that are occurring locally, regionally and globally. “Attaining this objective can be achieved by adopting practical methods and modern courses that are designed as per the latest methodologies in planning, implementation, training, as well as field and operational experience,” he continued.

Lieutenant General Al Sha’far continued: “Promoting  confidence in the ability of police entities to maintain their distinguished status and leading role in the service of society is the result of the valuable efforts made by the police academies, colleges, institutes, and schools to support the ministry with highly qualified and skilled young national cadres, by qualifying human cadres to cater to the workforce needs of the various police and security bodies in the country; and enable them to play their part in promoting safety, security and peace of mind.”

He also noted that the advanced level attained by the Federal Police School is a true reflection of the efforts exerted by its officials and supervisors, and of their commitment to adopt the latest means of training in preparing highly qualified and competent national staff members.

Lieutenant General Al Sha’far congratulated the graduates on their outstanding success and urged them to pursue further academic attainment and endeavor to gain the necessary expertise to achieve excellence in their professional life. He also called upon them to avail of the knowledge and skills they have acquired at school; to embrace methods of teamwork with their colleagues; strengthen the spirit of competition and perseverance in their endeavor to reach the coveted aspirations; and always seek to achieve leadership by pursuing further scientific attainment and knowledge.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai; Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police;and Major General Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Civil Defense General Commander-in-chief. Also attending were a number of officers from the Ministry of Interior; the training and teaching faculty at the Federal Police School and a large number of the graduates’ parents.

The graduation ceremony began with the entry of the ceremonial field line-up.  Then, the leader of the line-up asked Lt. General Al Sha’far, sponsor of the ceremony, for permission to begin the graduation ceremony. .

In his address on this occasion, Brigadier Ahmed Abdullah Al Hajri, Director of the Federal Police School emphasized the commitment of the School’s administration to exert further efforts to keep pace with the development and modernization drive, in pursuance of the MoI’s strategy.

He also noted that the UAE will diligently continue to forge ahead and to provide a unique role model of leadership. He said: “We take pride in our all-inclusive experience, which aims to ensure sustainability across all aspects of life. This approach, inspired by the hard and unrelenting work of the founding fathers, has been passed on to the next generations, which picked up the ancestors’ values and integrated them in the requirements of contemporary life; turning hardships into comfort, objectives into achievements, and visions into a unique innovative reality, inspired by the noble values and customs.”

Brigadier Al Hajri indicated that excellence is the main objective. He said: “To achieve excellence, the MoI endeavored to attain the highest levels of quality performance, via diverse methods, notably nurturing highly qualified and innovative staff members, capable of meeting the requirements of this time and age with high professionalism, driven by strong feelings of patriotism, and aspiring to attain a higher level of humanity and cohesion. To this end, we see training as the key component to reinforce the capabilities and skills of staff members to realize the desired aspirations. We, at the Federal Police School, have given top priority to achieve this goal, and pledged to overcome any potential obstacles.”

He also noted that the Federal Police School marches into the future with innovative plans, by shifting into smart education programs via developmental plans. The modernization  process included boosting the level of Emirati trainers and lecturers, updating curricula, ensuring  the availability of educational assistance, as well as providing the appropriate smart training environment, consistent with the theoretical applications, and ensuring the practical implementation of programs and curricula. “This process is supported by modern technology means and tools according to international best standards in training. The fact that the Federal Police School has gained the ISO 10015 in international training quality is testament to the unrelenting efforts to modernize and upgrade the training performance.

Brigadier Al Hajri expressed his thanks and appreciation for to all those who contributed efforts to make this session a success. Moreover, he congratulated the graduates, urging them to place development, progress and protection of their country at the top of their priorities, and to work hard and diligently to serve their country.

Towards the end of the ceremony, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, accompanied by Brigadier Ahmed Abdullah Al Hajri, Director of the Federal Police School distributed prizes to the top achieving students. It is worth mentioning that cadet Abdul Aziz Omar ranked first in the overall score and first in theoretical materials; cadet Khaled Abdullah ranked first in training courses and sports; cadet Adnan Abdurrahman ranked first in infantry; cadet Hussein Ibrahim ranked first in firearms training; cadet Tousuf Khalifa ranked first in shooting; cadet Khaled Mohammad ranked first in sports; and cadet Srour Bilal came first in leadership skills.
